Job description
Tektalent has partnered with a leading Australian technology service provider and managed services organisation seeking an IT Automation Engineer to design, build and govern automation solutions that improve operational efficiency. This role focuses on creating scalable automation workflows, integrations and process improvements across the business and MSP environment. The Automation Engineer will use a developer mindset to identify automation opportunities, build integrations, reduce manual effort and improve consistency across technology operations. Responsibilities include designing and deploying automations using platforms such as Rewst, Azure Logic Apps, Power Automate, Azure Functions and ConnectWise PSA workflows; developing integrations between cloud platforms, SaaS applications and APIs; improving existing automation processes including reporting and ticket triage; creating onboarding, offboarding, security alert and device provisioning workflows; monitoring automation performance; managing integrations across ConnectWise PSA, Microsoft 365, Azure, Rewst and IT Glue; identifying AI and emerging technology opportunities; preparing automation business cases; documenting automation environments; and ensuring governance through ownership, documentation and regular reviews. The successful candidate will have strong Microsoft ecosystem experience, scripting capability and a passion for automation and continuous improvement.
