Yard Controller - Part time

The Yard Controller role is responsible for maintaining good housekeeping of the goods-in area and yard, directing traffic and completing regular audits in line with site quality, safety and environmental requirements. Main duties include managing the Goods In area as the first point of contact for incoming deliveries, receiving deliveries and ensuring forms and materials are in good condition and stored correctly, verifying delivery paperwork, maintaining tidiness and organisation of the exterior goods-in yard, monitoring correct use of external skips to prevent waste contamination, coordinating skip collections and drop-offs with contractors, handling waste transfer notes and hazardous consignment notes, directing traffic and pedestrians, acting as safety marshal enforcing PPE requirements, conducting regular audits against BRCGS and ISO standards, reporting non-conformances related to security and cleanliness, and carrying out general upkeep tasks such as painting, shredding, furniture movements, minor installations, updating noticeboards, refilling PPE and supporting deliveries.
