Job description
Jonathan Lee Recruitment is seeking a Chief Software Architect to lead software engineering strategy for advanced cyber and defence systems. The role involves shaping software architectures, guiding engineering best practices, and leading a team of 20–30 engineers across multiple high-security projects. The successful candidate will define secure, scalable and high-quality software solutions, collaborate across software, hardware, systems and firmware teams, mentor engineers, support bids and proposals, influence software standards, and contribute to mission-critical defence technologies requiring DV security clearance. Responsibilities include providing technical leadership across projects, selecting optimal architectures and toolchains, developing software requirements and designs, creating development plans, mentoring engineering teams, reviewing software designs using UML and SysML modelling tools, and championing continuous integration, automated testing and secure coding practices.
