Job description
Purpose/Objective: This role is responsible for the execution of maintenance strategies for Boiler, Turbine, and Generator (BTG) equipment, ensuring their reliability and efficiency. The role is crucial in upholding safety standards, compliance with environmental and legal guidelines, and implementing technological advancements. Key Responsibilities: Lead electrical maintenance execution for Boiler, Turbine, Generator (BTG), and associated equipment to ensure continuous operational reliability. Conduct and coordinate maintenance activities for Boiler, Turbine, Generator, excitation systems, generator auxiliary systems, HT/LT switchgears, and service transformers. Update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and System Maintenance Plans (SMPs) for BTG and associated systems to reflect current operational requirements and best practices. Support implementation of improvement projects related to Boiler, Turbine, Generator, and associated equipment. Execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and maximize equipment life. Conduct Annual Overhaul (AOH), Capital Overhaul (COH), and outage maintenance ensuring safety, quality, budget compliance, and manpower optimization. Execute maintenance during plant outages according to established standards and procedures. Troubleshoot equipment failures, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to improve reliability. Prepare draft System Maintenance Plans (SMPs) for review by Team Leads. Execute proactive maintenance and testing to ensure equipment operates within permissible limits while recommending corrective actions when necessary. Monitor contractor/business associate performance, certify bills, and ensure contractual compliance. Ensure timely completion of Preventive Maintenance (PM), Corrective Maintenance (CM), and condition monitoring activities. Identify opportunities for process improvements, equipment upgrades, and system enhancements. Perform equipment repair and refurbishment activities while maintaining high-quality standards. Track maintenance activities, manage spare parts inventory, and ensure timely closure of SAP notifications. Identify system upgrade opportunities and implement innovative maintenance solutions. Perform testing and parameter monitoring of electrical equipment for BTG systems. Monitor condition and availability of BTG equipment including excitation systems, generator auxiliary systems, HT/LT switchgears, and transformers. Assist in spare inventory management and development of indigenous critical spares. Create Purchase Requisitions (PRs) for materials and services and prepare Service Entry Sheets (SES). Ensure compliance with IMS, AWMS, DISHA, ABEM, and CHETNA guidelines. Maintain compliance with legal and statutory requirements including electrical license renewals and elevator certifications. Participate in hazardous process mitigation, mock drills, safety training, and ensure personnel and equipment safety. Support digitalization initiatives and implement automation solutions to improve operational efficiency. Coordinate with internal departments, Head Office, vendors, contractors, and techno-commercial stakeholders for maintenance execution. Qualifications & Experience: BE/B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred). Minimum 4+ years of experience in electrical maintenance within power generation or heavy industry. Experience in maintenance of Boiler, Turbine, and Generator (BTG) equipment in the power sector is highly preferred.
