Job description
Optum is hiring a Technical Project Consultant (Project Manager) to lead the end-to-end delivery of technology and business initiatives. The role is responsible for managing projects from initiation through completion while ensuring alignment with project scope, timelines, budget, quality standards, and business objectives. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining project plans, milestones, deliverables, financial reporting, and resource allocation; coordinating work across cross-functional teams including IT, business stakeholders, offshore and onshore teams, and external partners; managing cross-application delivery and ensuring structured communication and handoffs; providing regular project status updates, presentations, and reports to leadership and stakeholders; identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks, issues, and dependencies; ensuring compliance with enterprise project governance, documentation, reporting standards, audit requirements, and regulatory guidelines; facilitating retrospectives and driving continuous process improvement; leveraging enterprise-approved AI tools to improve productivity and automate repetitive tasks; and ensuring adherence to company policies and changing business requirements. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with 7 to 10 years of experience in project management, program management, or a related discipline. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in project planning, execution, financial management, stakeholder communication, risk and issue management, cross-functional team leadership, organizational skills, and delivery ownership. Project Management certification and experience with Agile (Scrum) or Hybrid delivery methodologies are preferred.
