Position: Plant/Production Manager
Location: Sonipat, Haryana
Reporting To: Plant Head
Experience: 913 Years
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Plant Manager to oversee plant operations, production planning, manpower management, quality control, cost optimization, and safety compliance. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth production processes, maximizing operational efficiency, developing team capabilities, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day plant operations and ensure achievement of production targets.
Prepare and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production plans in line with business requirements.
Monitor production activities and ensure timely completion of production schedules.
Handle manpower planning, deployment, and utilization to maximize productivity.
Lead and supervise Production Engineers, Supervisors, and shop-floor personnel.
Ensure effective coordination between Production, Quality, Maintenance, Stores, and Purchase departments.
Drive cost optimization initiatives by reducing wastage, improving productivity, and controlling operational expenses.
Monitor production costs, material consumption, and machine utilization to achieve cost-efficiency targets.
Ensure adherence to quality standards and implement corrective and preventive actions for quality improvement.
Establish and maintain a strong culture of safety, discipline, and operational excellence.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, statutory requirements, and company policies.
Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and safety awareness programs.
Develop and implement training programs for skill enhancement of plant manpower and Production Engineers.
Mentor and guide team members to improve technical and managerial capabilities.
Monitor plant performance through MIS reports, production reports, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Support implementation of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure optimum inventory management and uninterrupted material availability for production.
Coordinate with senior management and provide regular updates on production, quality, safety, and operational performance.
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong experience in Production Planning and Control (PPC).
Expertise in Plant Operations and Manpower Management.
Proven experience in handling Production Engineers and shop-floor teams.
Strong knowledge of Cost Control, Productivity Improvement, and Quality Management.
Sound understanding of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) practices.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and team management abilities.
Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office.
Qualification
B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Production, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
MBA (Operations) will be an added advantage.
Preferred Industry Experience
Manufacturing, Engineering, Electrical Equipment, Fabrication, Industrial Products, EPC, or related industries.
